On June 30, the opening ceremony of the new textile manufacturing facility of GB GROUP LLC was held in Nakhchivan City.
The event commenced with the national anthems of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Türkiye, followed by a one-minute silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs.
The ceremony was attended by Kazim Huseynaliyev, Minister of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic; Farid Bagirzade, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population; Asip Kaya, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Nakhchivan; representatives of government institutions; and entrepreneurs operating in the autonomous republic.
The speakers noted that, as a result of the attention and support provided by President Ilham Aliyev to the development of entrepreneurship in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the private sector continues to expand, new jobs are being created, and the business environment is becoming increasingly favorable. It was emphasized that the tax, customs, and social insurance incentives introduced on January 1 of this year have significantly reduced the financial burden on entrepreneurs, encouraging the expansion of production, the adoption of modern technologies, and the manufacture of competitive products.
It was also highlighted that the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 9, 2026, “On Additional Measures Related to the Promotion of Non-Oil and Non-Gas Exports and the Support of Transportation Costs,” serves to increase the export potential of non-oil products, reduce logistics costs, and further strengthen state support for entrepreneurship. The decree also creates additional opportunities to support the transportation of products manufactured in Nakhchivan to other regions of the country.
The speakers further underlined the significant role of the textile industry in increasing women's employment and noted that the participation of an investor from Türkiye demonstrates once again that Nakhchivan is an attractive destination for foreign investment. They wished the company's staff continued success in their future activities.
The management of the enterprise expressed gratitude to the Head of State for the attention and support shown to the development of entrepreneurship in Nakhchivan. Following the official ceremony, the guests toured the facility, where they were introduced to the production process, the working conditions, and the company's future development plans. In addition to providing a modern working environment, the enterprise has also created facilities for the daily catering of its employees.
It was reported that, within the framework of the investment promotion certificate issued in December 2025, the enterprise received four supporting certificates. As a result, modern production equipment, raw materials, and supplies imported from China and Türkiye were exempted from value-added tax (VAT) and customs duties.
At the initial stage, the enterprise has created nearly 100 permanent jobs. The textile products manufactured at the facility are intended not only for the domestic market but also for export to international markets. In the future, the company plans to increase production capacity, expand its product range, strengthen its export potential, and create additional employment opportunities.
