On September 29, Minister of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Kazim Huseynaliyev met with a delegation led by Adrien Kiraly, Director for the Eastern Neighbourhood and Türkiye at the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission.
The meeting was also attended by Mariana Kuyundzic, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan and Ambassador, Elisabetta Falcetti, Managing Director for Türkiye and the Caucasus at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as representatives of the aforementioned institutions.
During the meeting, the delegation was informed about the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic’s trade and economic potential, investment opportunities, and measures being implemented to develop the business environment.
The delegation, in turn, proposed exploring opportunities for cooperation in logistics, transport and transit, renewable energy, the digital economy and other areas, and stated that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development could consider providing loans for projects to be implemented in these areas in the autonomous republic.
The sides exchanged views on prospects for the further development of economic cooperation, opportunities to attract companies from European Union member states to the autonomous republic for investment, as well as other areas of mutual interest.
