The visit is jointly organized by the Trade Representation of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Türkiye, the Ministry of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Kars.
As part of the visit program, the Minister of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Kazım Hüseynəliyev, Azerbaijan’s Trade Representative in Türkiye, Tamerlan Tağıyev, Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Kars, Zamin Əliyev, Advisor to the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Niyazi Səfərov, and Deputy Minister of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Tapdıq Əliyev, first held a meeting with the Governor of Iğdır, Mustafa Fırat Taşolar. During the meeting, the current state of economic cooperation between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Türkiye, as well as prospects for future development, were discussed.
Later, an informative event titled “Investment Opportunities in Azerbaijan: The Strategic Potential of the Nakhchivan Region” was held with the participation of the Azerbaijani delegation, Governor of Iğdır Mustafa Fırat Taşolar, Chairman of the Iğdır Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kamil Arslan, Chairman of the Iğdır Commodity Exchange Serhat Kumtepe, Rector of Iğdır University Ekrem Gürel, and Turkish businesspeople.
At the event, the Minister of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Kazım Hüseynəliyev and Azerbaijan’s Trade Representative in Türkiye Tamerlan Tağıyev delivered speeches about Azerbaijan’s investment and export opportunities, including those of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, as well as tax, customs, and social insurance incentives applied in the autonomous republic. The speeches also highlighted the expected contribution of the Zangezur Corridor to the region’s future economic development.
Presentations related to the topic were delivered during the event. In addition, questions from participating businesspeople were answered, and views were exchanged on issues of interest to them.
As part of the visit program, the delegation also held a number of meetings in Kars. During meetings with the Governor of Kars, Ziya Polat, and the Mayor of Kars, Ötüken Senger, discussions were held on expanding economic and trade relations, mutual investment opportunities, and areas of cooperation.
Later, a meeting was held with the Chairman of the Board of the Kars Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kadir Bozan, and businesspeople operating in Kars. During the meeting, information was provided on the tax, customs, and social insurance incentives offered to entrepreneurs in Nakhchivan, the region’s export opportunities, and prospects for joint cooperation.
It should be noted that, in accordance with the visit program, the Azerbaijani delegation’s next meetings and events in Türkiye will continue in the cities of Istanbul and Izmir.
