As a result of President Ilham Aliyev’s attention and support for the development of entrepreneurship in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the private sector is rapidly developing in the autonomous republic today, new jobs are being created, and the business environment is being further improved.
Kazim Huseynaliyev, Minister of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, said this in a statement to journalists.
The minister noted that a new textile enterprise was opened in Nakhchivan city today, marking the second textile enterprise commissioned during the current month. According to him, this fact demonstrates the development of the textile industry, one of the main areas of light industry in Nakhchivan.
Kazim Huseynaliyev emphasized that the achievements are based on the decrees and orders signed by President Ilham Aliyev, state support for entrepreneurship, as well as the favorable business environment formed in the autonomous republic.
According to the minister, under the law that came into force on January 1 of this year, entrepreneurs operating in Nakhchivan benefit from concessions in the areas of taxation, customs, and social insurance, and businesspeople are already actively making use of these opportunities.
He also recalled that, according to a decree signed by the head of state this month, starting from September 1, subsidies will be provided for transportation costs incurred when products manufactured in Nakhchivan are delivered to other regions of Azerbaijan. This support will cover not only the newly opened enterprise but also existing and future production facilities.
The minister stressed that the measures being implemented will make an important contribution to increasing the competitiveness of local producers, meeting the needs of the domestic market, expanding export opportunities, and reducing dependence on imports.
Kazim Huseynaliyev stated that the participation of an investor from Türkiye in the project once again confirms that Nakhchivan is an attractive destination for foreign investment. Noting that the vast majority of employees at the enterprise are women, he underlined that this serves to increase women’s employment and economic activity.
The minister added that the newly opened textile enterprise received an Investment Promotion Certificate in December 2025. Thanks to this certificate, the equipment and raw materials imported by the enterprise are exempt from customs duties and value-added tax. According to him, these concessions create favorable conditions for reducing production costs, increasing the competitiveness of products, and expanding the enterprise’s activities.
