On September 21, an event titled “Peace and Sustainable Economic Development: The Future of Nakhchivan” was held at the Ministry of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic as part of the “Peace Month”.
Delivering the opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Muslum Jabbarzade stated that the period from August 21 to September 21 had been declared “Peace Month” by the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It was noted that the main purpose of the “Peace Month” is to raise public awareness of the interconnection between peace and human rights, strengthen an environment of mutual respect and trust within society, expand opportunities for dialogue and mutual understanding, as well as encourage the participation of government institutions, local self-government bodies, civil society institutions and the wider public in activities carried out in this field.
The event also featured speeches by Elnur Mahmudov and Rza Ibrahimli, heads of departments at the Ministry of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic; Zahid Ganbarov, Head of Department at the State Tax Service under the Ministry; and Ayaz Jabbarov, Head of Sector at the State Service for Property Issues under the Ministry.
The speakers provided information on the significance of September 21 – the International Day of Peace, the impact of peace on economic development, the opportunities created by economic integration and international transport corridors, as well as the role of tax policy, tax culture, the protection of property rights and transparent property relations in ensuring sustainable economic development.
The speeches also highlighted the opportunities created by peace and stability for expanding economic cooperation, improving the investment environment, promoting entrepreneurship and ensuring the efficient use of economic potential.
