In the first ten months of 2025, trade turnover between Türkiye and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic increased by 9.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, amounting to 47.8 million US dollars.
The volume of exports to Türkiye grew by 24.8 percent compared to the same period last year. Türkiye ranked first in the foreign trade turnover of the autonomous republic, accounting for a 46.5 percent share.
Exports from Nakhchivan to Türkiye included mineral water, tobacco products, sunflower seeds, dried fruits, plastic products, and travertine stone. Türkiye’s exports to Nakhchivan mainly consisted of food and agricultural products, household electrical appliances, furniture, textile products, and various types of machinery.
Most of the foreign-capital companies operating in Nakhchivan are Turkish companies. Currently, joint entrepreneurial entities established together with Turkish businesspeople operate actively in various sectors of the autonomous republic’s economy.
With the support of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund, as well as through the personal initiatives of entrepreneurs, numerous small, medium, and large-scale projects have been launched across the districts of the autonomous republic.
In the first eleven months of the current year, 138 projects were supported by the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Entrepreneurship Development Fund, with more than 22 million manats in concessional loans allocated. These loans have enabled the creation of new jobs, contributing to improved social welfare and increased economic activity.
A new package of tax, customs, and social concessions has been prepared for entrepreneurs operating in Nakhchivan. The implementation of these concessions is scheduled to begin in January 2026.
This package will provide additional advantages for businesspeople operating in the region, expand both production and export opportunities, and foster a more competitive business environment.
