An event dedicated to the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” was held at the Ministry of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic

An event titled “President Ilham Aliyev’s Difficult and Honorable Path in Restoring State Borders and Ensuring Our Sovereignty” was held at the Ministry of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic within the framework of the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty.”

At the beginning of the event, participants laid flowers at the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev located in the administrative building of the Ministry of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country.

Later, Kazım Hüseynəliyev, Minister of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, spoke about the significance of declaring 2025 as the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” in the Republic of Azerbaijan. He emphasized the new stage of Azerbaijan’s development and its transformation into a powerful state. The Minister highlighted the invaluable role of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in achieving economic independence, promoting entrepreneurship, and shaping the private sector. He also noted that this policy has been successfully continued under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, mentioning improvements in legislation supporting entrepreneurship, simplification of administrative procedures, and ongoing economic reforms.

Elbrus Isayev, Rector of Nakhchivan State University, underlined that declaring 2025 the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” is a historic step in promoting national sovereignty and legal values. He provided an overview of Azerbaijan’s constitutional development and achievements in strengthening state sovereignty.

Huseyn Safarov, Deputy Minister and Acting Minister of Justice of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, spoke about the state-building activities of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, stressing his decisive role in forming the legislative system of independent Azerbaijan and laying the foundation of national legal statehood. He noted that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, significant progress has been made in improving and modernizing the country’s legal system.

During the event, a video presentation titled “President Ilham Aliyev’s Difficult and Honorable Path in Restoring State Borders and Ensuring Our Sovereignty” was showcased.

Finally, based on the Orders of the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Mr. Bakhtiyar Mammadov, dated June 23, 2025 (“On the Awarding of Civil Servants”) and July 21, 2025 (“On the Awarding of Media Representatives by the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic”), employees of the Ministry of Economy and the State Service on Property Issues under the Ministry were presented with the “For Distinguished Service” medals and certificates.
