An event dedicated to “Entrepreneurs’ Day” was held in Nakhchivan

On April 24, an event marking “Entrepreneurs’ Day” was held, jointly organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

First, the participants visited the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and laid flowers in front of it.

The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence in memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of the country. Heads of relevant state institutions, as well as entrepreneurs operating in various sectors, attended the event.

The Minister of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Kazim Huseynaliyev, stated that the formation of a market economy and the development of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan are closely associated with the name of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The Minister added that the declaration of April 25 as “Entrepreneurs’ Day” by the relevant Order of President Ilham Aliyev reflects the high value placed on entrepreneurship. It was noted that the suspension of inspections, implementation of electronic registration, improvement of licensing procedures, promotion of exports and investments, as well as subsidies and concessional loans play an important role in the development of the private sector. The Minister also emphasized that tax, customs, and social insurance incentives applied in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic starting from 2026 serve to further strengthen the business environment.

Minister of Agriculture Rafail Guliyev, in his speech, highlighted that the development of entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector is among the priority areas. He noted that comprehensive measures are being implemented to develop the agricultural sector in the autonomous republic, including providing farmers with equipment, improving subsidy mechanisms, introducing electronic systems, and expanding modern approaches in livestock and crop production. He also emphasized that the application of innovative technologies, development of seedling and horticulture sectors, as well as the modernization of irrigation infrastructure, increase efficiency and create opportunities for expanding local production.

Chairman of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Vugar Abbasov, shared his views on the prospects for entrepreneurship development, existing opportunities, and future objectives in Nakhchivan.

Director of “REGES” Construction Materials LLC, Kamal Karimov, and Director of “Badamli Mineral Waters” LLC, Azad Hasanov, shared their experiences in their respective fields and noted that state support has had a positive impact on the development of their businesses.

Within the framework of the event, a group of entrepreneurs was awarded certificates of appreciation by the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for their achievements and effective activities in the field of entrepreneurship.
